Updated Important Info Re: Colorado Governor Candidates

Fellow Patriots,

Here’s some updated info for you about our Republican Governor candidates. The financials are as of Oct 15. In case the names have slipped your minds, the two we had speak at our Reagan Dinner last May were Scott Bottoms and Mark Baisley. We also recommend that you take some time to visit their websites to get more informed about these candidates. We think it is especially important to find out what they have to say about their policy positions.

At the last few ACRCC meetings, we have shown a chart demonstrating the disparity in funding between the top 5 Republican candidates for Colorado Governor and the top 2 Democrats. That chart is replicated below, and it reflects data as of the Oct 15 quarterly reporting deadline. Not every candidate has reported yet to the SOS, so they would not be included.

It’s been hard to keep track of, but at last check, there are 19!!! Republican candidates who have declared candidacy for governor. As you can imagine, this is spreading investment into all of these campaigns very thin. Some will most certainly have to drop out due to lack of funding (and some maybe just good sense).

Therefore, please consider the following. If you already have a favorite candidate or two who you would like to see stay in the race for the Republican primary, please seriously consider contributing some amount to their campaign. It will be sad if some great candidates have to give up due to our lack of attention to the challenges.

If you can afford $10 one time or $10/month, please consider doing so. If $100, then do that. Everything helps them, and they’ve told us that monthly donations are particularly helpful. The maximum donation limit from any individual to a single candidate for governor is $725 during the primary season, and another $725 for the general election season.

I listened to a short audio interview where CO State House Representative Ken DeGraff said something close to the following: “To get big money out, we need to get little money in.” Most of us can’t be “big” donors. Many of us could be “little” donors. Please do what you can and help keep your favorites in the running.

A straw poll was held at this forum, and the results were as follows:
