Polis Calls Special Session to Address Shortfalls in Colorado Budget, Beginning Aug 21

A Colorado legislative special session has been called, to begin August 21.

In calling the session, Governor Polis is largely responding to effects of “The Great Big Beautiful Bill” (HR1) which, in part, withdraws Federal support of Medicaid for illegal immigrants and curtails Federal matching funding for Planned Parenthood. Colorado was already over $1B in the hole before this and is now facing over a $2B shortfall.
