Some of you may have noticed this announcement in the PLPOA newsletter but I wanted to be sure you had seen it and maybe given it some consideration. The Association currently has two (2) Board member positions open. These are elected positions by those of us who are residents in PLPOA. Most of us will recall the recent effort to get the members to approve the expenditure for a new gymnasium that many of us residents did not want. The truth is that who is on the Board matters. Please think about whether this is a way that you might be able to serve in our community. Maybe you or maybe someone you know. The deadline to submit an application is very soon, May 12. Please note that, while these are non-partisan positions, getting in one or two more fiscally conservative board members could be a good thing. Also, note that we are able to help “get out the vote” for a candidate whose values represent those that we as Republicans regard as important. Thank you! All current board members are eligible to run again for another term. Any PLPOA property owner in good standing is eligible to run for election for one of these seats. Owners interested in serving on the Board, must submit a completed application form, a resume along with a petition sheet. The deadline to submit your application is May 12. According to the Bylaws, Article V, Section 3, each member will be elected for a three-year term. Board Members are expected to attend in person or remotely all meetings which are scheduled the second Thursday of every month along with any other scheduled meetings. They are expected to understand the Association’s governing documents and its operations. Candidates should also be prepared if elected to fulfill their fiduciary duties to the community, exercise sound business judgement and balance the needs and obligations of the community as a whole.
